Dillon Powell, a redshirt junior at Colorado School of Mines, won the men's 5,000-meter title in 13:48.13 at the NCAA Division 2 Indoor Championships at the Virginia Beach Sports Center. Powell became the first Colorado School of Mines male athlete to capture the indoor 5,000 crown a year after finishing runner-up at Pittsburg State. Powell added the indoor championship to his 10,000-meter victory at the outdoor final in May at Grand Valley State, along with the 10-kilometer cross country title in December in Washington.
